Mom: Lucas (a baby dagny's age) was over here pouring his chips in the dog water. you would have freaked out if that was Dagny.
Me: Mom, you know I wouldn't give her chips anyway.
Mom: Oh excuuuse me. If Dagny were dipping her tofu in dog bowl...

So my mom was awesome to Dagny and I for Christmas. She made me a "chicken" pot pie (she has never cooked for me in the billion years since I went vegan) and bought Dagny some cool wood toys, too. I was shocked and very happy that she was so nice. I wish she would take the time to come see us and be a grandma on the non holiday times but the effort is SERIOUSLY appreciated.
"OMG Grandma got me a wooden block train!"
We had a fantastic time at the city museum (where we caught the plague and then passed it on to everyone we love dearly) so I will post those pics, too.

I woke up Sunday with a terrible headache that progressed into the worst sick I have ever felt. By evening time I was dehydrated and kept blacking out momentarily. I was getting sick constantly and could not take care of Dagny. I am so lucky that she is such a good little girl. The ambulance arrived and she let the EMT carry her out and put her in the car seat behind me.
I was so dehydrated that they had a lot of trouble getting an IV in me. My blood pressure was low and I was completely out of it. I don't remember much of my visit. I do remember them sticking me several times in the ambulance and once I looked down and there was blood all over my shirt and arms.
I also remember the EMT asking, "Are you usually this white?" uhhhhh. :)
After they got an IV in we went to Barnes and almost immediately got a room. While we were waiting in the hall outside the room Dagny perched patiently on the arm or her carseat eating ice from a cup while I was in a wheelchair next to her.
I had to stay until early morning on an IV. Dagny stayed with me in the room and eventually I was hydrated enough to nurse her which made her feel much better. We took a cab home in the morning and slept until 3 pm today. I feel very weak and shaky today but the anti-nausea meds are helping a lot.
Thank you, Meredith for the gatorade (and Kerry for asking her to) it is coming in handy today! Also thank you to everyone who offered to pick up groceries. We are lucky to have a few days worth so we'll be okay. I'm not eating so really I only need to make food for Dagny.

It's 2010!!!!!!
